Biography

Seyed Ali Tabatabaee is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Dr. William Evans. His Ph.D. research focuses on optimization with explorable uncertainty, and he is expected to graduate in August 2025. He received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. He is currently a research visitor at the Australian National University for the period of April to June 2025, developing a phylogenetic tree simulator for AliSim under the supervision of Dr. Minh Bui.

Research Interests

With a solid background in both the theory and practice of computer science, Ali is interested in algorithms, optimization, distributed systems, blockchains, bioinformatics, machine learning, and software engineering.
